Man Dies in Fiery Tesla Crash on West Las Positas Boulevard
PLEASANTON, CA (January 18, 2020) – A driver was killed in a solo car crash on West Las Positas Boulevard, Saturday evening.
According to the Pleasanton Police Department, the incident happened at about 6:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a Tesla Model S crashed into a traffic signal, a sign, and a cement wall at an apartment complex. Then, the vehicle burst into flames.
Emergency responders pronounced the Tesla driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Pleasanton police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and contact the Pleasanton Police Department Traffic Unit at (925) 931-5100. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
