Sacramento Man Killed, Andrew Jogesh Lal Arrested after DUI Crash in Antelope
ANTELOPE, CA (January 19, 2020) – A 65-year-old Sacramento man died in a pedestrian crash near Elverta Road, early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:30 AM. The pedestrian was walking west across Walerga Road. There, a southbound 1999 Toyota Corolla struck the victim.
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, identified as 25-year-old Andrew Jogesh Lal, remained and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities later arrested Lal on suspicion of alcohol-related DUI. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
