Man and Woman Killed in Apple Valley Solo-Vehicle Crash ID’d as Tandy Patnode and Eric Aranda

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (January 18, 2020) – Authorities identified 39-year-old Tandy Patnode and 30-year-old Eric Aranda as the Apple Valley residents killed in a crash, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the Apple Valley Police Station, the incident happened at about 12:21 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a 1986 Toyota 4Runner struck a berm, overturned, and came to rest upside down.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Patnode and Aranda dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver, a 33-year-old man, was transported to St. Mary’s hospital. A passenger ejected from the SUV, described as a 14-year-old male, was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
 
Apple Valley police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Deputies encourage witnesses to call Deputy C. Sahagun or Deputy S. Cullum at (760) 240-7400 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
