Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Market Street

 
SHERMAN HEIGHTS, CA (January 19, 2020) – A male pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Market Street, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 1:55 AM. A pedestrian attempted to cross Market Street when a vehicle struck him. Then, the vehicle dragged him for approximately 100 feet eastbound.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
 
Witnesses described the vehicle as a silver GMC Envoy and the driver as male. In addition, they observed that the left headlight no longer worked after the collision.
