Woman Fatally Injured in San Marcos Hit-and-Run on Descanso Avenue

 
SAN MARCOS, CA (January 20, 2020) — A hit-and-run on Descanso Avenue claimed the life of an 81-year-old woman in San Marcos early Friday morning.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff‘s Department, they received reports that a pedestrian was down in the roadway at about 2 a.m.
 
Their initial investigation showed that a black vehicle was eastbound on Descanso Avenue when it hit the pedestrian west of South Rancho Santa Fe Road.
 
The 81-year-old victim died at the scene. The officials did not release her name pending notification of her family.
 
Meantime, there was no detailed description of the hit-and-run vehicle and its driver. The officials asked anyone with information to contact Deputy Michael Guerrero at 760-510-5048.
