Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Port Chicago Highway
CONCORD, CA (January 20, 2020) — A female bicyclist was struck and killed by a car on Port Chicago Highway on Friday, January 17.
According to police, the vehicle hit the bicyclist at about 6:20 a.m. as it moved north on Port Chicago Highway near Panoramic Drive.
The 54-year-old woman was not immediately identified.
The driver, a 68-year-old Vallejo resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Alcohol or drug impairment did not appear to be a factor.
They did not immediately provide information about how the incident transpired.
Police shut down Port Chicago Highway around 90 minutes for the investigation.
