Three Hurt after West Covina Car Crash on Metrolink Tracks

 
WEST COVINA, CA (January 17, 2020) – A car crash on the Metrolink tracks in Irwindale left three injured on Wednesday, January 15.
 
Police rushed to the crash at around 8:05 a.m. in the area of Azusa Canyon Road and Los Angeles Street. They discovered one of the vehicles had been pushed onto the railroad tracks. The wreckage blocked the rail line, Irwindale Police Department said.
 
Witnesses to the incident rushed to the Toyota Camry. They assisted an injured person from the vehicle as a train approached, police stated.
 
The crew of approaching the Metrolink train spotted the vehicle. They took emergency action to stop the train east of the crossing and avoid a collision with the stuck vehicle, police stated.
 
Three adults involved in the incident sustained minor injuries. Emergency responders brought them to a hospital.
 
Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to have contributed to the collision, police said.
