Pedestrian Killed after Sounder South Train Accident near Sumner
SUMNER, WA (January 17, 2020) – A pedestrian died following a Sounders South train accident north of Sumner on Wednesday, January 15.
The fatal collision caused major delays for people who use the Sounder South train. Sound Transit advised commuters to use other alternative transportation.
Three special buses also have been dispatched to Sumner to transport passengers to Seattle.
Officials have held northbound trains 1504, 1506, 1508, 1510 and 1512. They also canceled northbound trains 1514 and 1516 and southbound trains 1501 and 1503.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
