1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Head-On Collision on Highway 1 [Pacifica, CA]

Pacifica Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 1 Kills Man, Injures 2 Others

 
PACIFICA, CA (January 17, 2020) — A head-on collision on Highway 1 killed a young man and injured two other people Thursday morning near Pacifica.
 
The incident was reported at approximately 3:14 a.m. on southbound Highway 1 near Manor Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Dodger Charger entered the southbound lanes facing north and then hit a Mercedes SUV.
 
The man driving the Dodge, approximately 25 to 35 years old, died at the scene.
 
On the other hand, emergency personnel took the driver of the Mercedes, a man between 40 to 50 years old, to a hospital with unknown injuries. They also transported to the hospital a woman in the Dodge aged 25 to 35 years old.
 
Meantime, the officials closed southbound Highway 1 during the investigation and emergency response. They diverted traffic to Highway 35.
