Teenagers Hurt after Long Beach Pedestrian Crash on East 15th Street
LONG BEACH, CA (January 15, 2020) – Two teens suffered injuries after a pedestrian accident on East 15th Street in Long Beach on Tuesday, January 14.
According to Long Beach Police Department, at about 6:55 a.m., officers responded to East 15th Street and Martin Luther King Junior Avenue for a traffic accident.
The initial investigation determined that two boys, 17 and 18 years old, were crossing the street when a vehicle struck them.
Both teens sustained injuries to their upper torsos. As a result, Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported them to local hospitals in critical but stable condition. Paramedics rushed one of them to Long Beach Memorial. However, the other was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police stated.
The department said they do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident.
The investigation is still ongoing.
