Homicide Suspect Arrested after Crashing into Bus while Fleeing Police in Roseville

 
ROSEVILLE, CA (January 14, 2020) – Authorities identified 48-year-old Asghar Ehsan as the homicide suspect arrested while trying to flee from officers, Tuesday.
 
According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident began at about 3:40 PM. Officers were conducting a welfare check at a home in the 6700 block of Calvine Road when they found a woman dead inside. Sacramento police identified Ehsan as the suspect in the case.
 
At about 6:30 PM, the Roseville Police Department received an alert about an armed homicide suspect wanted out of Sacramento. An hour later, officers spotted a vehicle matching Ehsan’s vehicle behind Fry’s Electronics.
 
Roseville police asked Ehsan to exit the vehicle. However, he did not comply and drove away.
 
The fleeing vehicle reached North Sunrise Avenue, where it struck a city bus. The impact of the collision caused Ehsan’s vehicle to stop working. Then, the suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot but police quickly took him into custody.
 
Emergency responders transported a bus occupant to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Ehsan was booked into Sacramento County Jail on homicide charges. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the female victim, who reportedly knew Ehsan. Authorities will provide additional information once it becomes available.
