Two Pedestrians Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Emerald Street near Earl Street

 
TORRANCE, CA (January 14, 2020) – A woman and a 5-year-old girl suffered injuries after a vehicle struck them on Emerald Street, Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Torrance Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:40 AM. A 2017 Toyota Rav4 was southbound on Earl Street when it attempted to turn left. Then, the vehicle hit two pedestrians walking north across Emerald Street.
 
Emergency responders rushed the woman and the girl to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. The relationship of the pair to one another was not immediately clear. Meanwhile, the 45-year-old Toyota driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the collision. Those with information should call Torrance police at (310) 328-3456. Authorities will release additional details once they become available.
