SPANISH SPRINGS, NV (January 14, 2020) — A 13-year-old boy suffered injuries in a bicycle collision on Eagle Canyon Drive Wednesday morning.
 
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened at about 8 a.m. on January 8, west of Pyramid Highway. The area is about a quarter-mile from Shaw Middle School.
 
The teen was on a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle. Emergency crews took him to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
On the other hand, the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
 
According to the Washoe County School District, more than 20 children have been injured in traffic accidents so far this school year. As such, they called on the community to do more to keep 64,000 students in the district safe.
