SACRAMENTO, CA (January 12, 2020) – A driver was arrested following a DUI crash on Arden Way on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 9:20 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle slammed into a Sacramento Municipal Utility District power pole near Watt Avenue.
The impact of the crash initially affected more than 10,000 SMUD customers. It also knocked out power and heat at Arden Middle School, prompting class cancelations.
Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence. As per reports, the driver did not sustain injuries in the crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
