Driver Arrested, 2 Injured in DUI Accident on Balboa Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Alleged DUI Driver Caused San Diego Multi-Vehicle Crash on Balboa Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 15, 2020) — The authorities arrested a driver after an alleged DUI accident on Balboa Avenue Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. near Lindbergh Neighborhood Park as per the San Diego police. Involved were four vehicles.
The driver of a 2019 Nissan Frontier lost control and hit a raised center median at Charger Boulevard. After that, the vehicle crossed onto the eastbound side of the street. As a result, it crashed into an oncoming 2014 Jeep Patriot driven by a 33-year-old woman.
The Patriot then collided into a 2017 Honda Civic and a 2015 Jeep Cherokee.
Emergency responders transported the driver of the Patriot to a hospital with a broken thigh bone. In addition, officials evaluated the passenger for complaints of pain.
Meantime, the other three motorists, including the 59-year-old man driving the Nissan, did not report any injuries. After that, the officers arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
