32-Year-Old Cory Wade Identified as Man Killed while Walking on Highway 41

 
COARSEGOLD, CA (January 13, 2020) – Authorities identified 32-year-old Cory Wade of Coarsegold as the man struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 41, Monday evening.
 
According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 6:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, Wade was walking along the highway near Road 207. There, a gray Toyota Camry hit the pedestrian. The impact of the collision shattered the passenger side of the Toyota’s windshield.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Wade dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the 50-year-old Toyota driver remained and did not sustain injuries in the crash.
 
A pending toxicology report on the victim will determine if drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the fatal collision. Investigators are also trying to figure out if the victim attempted to seek help after car troubles. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
