Vehicle Fatally Hits Pedestrian on 9th Street in Imperial Beach
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA (January 13, 2020) — A pedestrian accident on 9th Street in Imperial Beach claimed a man’s life on Friday.
The incident happened at around 12:09 p.m. according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The man was crossing the street near Ebony Avenue when a northbound vehicle hit him.
The pedestrian, who was in his early to mid-70s, died at the hospital.
Meantime, the 84-year-old woman driving the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
According to the officers, alcohol was not a factor in the collision. They also found that the man was not in a crosswalk when he was struck.
