MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA (January 6, 2020) – A woman lost her life after a car crashed into a home on 220th Street Southwest, Monday morning.
 
According to the South Snohomish County Fire and Rescue, the incident happened at about 7:45 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a car sheared off a power pole, went through a fence, and crashed into a house. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to catch fire.
 
Emergency responders pronounced a woman inside the vehicle dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, a woman in the house was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
 
Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
