Michael Jean Forgues Found Dead Inside Truck on 5 Freeway [Grapevine, CA]

Michael Jean Forgues Identified as Big Rig Driver Found Dead near Grapevine

 
GRAPEVINE, CA (December 26, 2019) – Authorities identified 51-year-old Michael Jean Forgues of Madera as the big rig driver found dead along 5 Freeway, Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a tow truck driver responded to a 2017 Freightliner stopped on the southbound 5 Freeway. Then, the tow truck driver found Forgues unresponsive in the rear of the cab, at about 8:25 AM.
 
Personnel from the Kern County Fire Department later pronounced Forgues dead at the scene.
 
Investigators believe that the victim pulled over to sleep inside the truck after a section of the Grapevine was shut down overnight because of snow. In addition, his death appeared to be consistent with a possible medical emergency. An exam will be done to determine his cause of death.
 
CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal incident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
