KEARNY MESA, CA (January 7, 2020) – A victim died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 163 early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 3:00 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle struck a pedestrian near the Balboa Avenue off-ramp.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
