Three Hospitalized after Head-On Crash on Highway 154
SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, CA (January 5, 2020) – Three people suffered injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 154, early Sunday morning.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident happened shortly after midnight. Due to unknown reasons, an eastbound blue Nissan Sentra crossed the centerline of the road. There, it collided head-on with a vehicle near Rancho Alegre.
Emergency responders had to extricate the driver of the Nissan. An American Medical Response ambulance transported the victim to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries. Meanwhile, two other victims were taken to Cottage Hospital with minor injuries.
California Highway Patrol officers ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
