Trumonikia Fields-Johnson Arrested in Bakersfield Collision Involving Motorcycle
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 06, 2020) — A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after colliding with a vehicle operated by 40-year-old Trumonikia Fields-Johnson in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield police, they responded to the incident at about 5:34 p.m. at 200 Coffee Road.
Fields-Johnson was driving a white SUV northbound on Coffee Road when she made an unsafe lane change. As a result, subsequently collided with a motorcyclist.
Emergency crews transported the man riding the motorcycle to a local hospital with moderate to major injuries. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
On the other hand, Fields-Johnson fled the scene. The officers found her SUV abandoned near the crash site, while they located Fields-Johnson hiding in a restaurant.
The police arrested her on suspicion of hit-and-run involving injury and driving on a suspended license. In addition, they believe that alcohol, drugs, and speed did not contribute to the crash.
