Nathan Souders Killed, Others Injured after Prescott Four-Car Crash
PRESCOTT, AZ (January 8, 2020) – 55-year-old Nathan Souders of Chino Valley died and several others were hurt in a four-vehicle crash on Sunday, January 5.
According to the Prescott Police Department, the accident occurred on Highway 69 near the intersection of Walker Road.
Police said in a news release that at about 1:00 p.m., a vehicle driven by Souders moved west on the highway. Then he crossed left of center and this caused his vehicle to crash into the left rear corner of a vehicle moving eastbound.
The vehicle then continued to veer left. After that, it struck the right front and side of another eastbound vehicle. Then it crashed head-on with a fourth vehicle in the eastbound lanes.
Officials shut down the highway in both directions for several hours during their investigation.
Medics rushed Souders to the hospital in critical condition. Medical personnel later pronounced him dead at the hospital, the release states. All other patients received treatments for minor injuries.
The reason behind the crash is still under investigation. Police stated that impairment does not appear as a factor.
