75-Year-Old Kathleen Watson Dies after Crash Involving Airport Shuttle in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (December 31, 2019) – Authorities identified 75-year-old Kathleen Watson of Green Valley as the passenger killed in an airport shuttle crash, Tuesday evening.
 
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident happened near Washington Street, at about 10:00 PM. A Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport shuttle was traveling north on 32nd Street when it collided with an eastbound vehicle.
 
Emergency responders rushed the shuttle bus driver and two passengers to a hospital. Unfortunately, Watson succumbed to injuries. The shuttle bus driver, a 39-year-old man, and the second passenger, a 74-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
 
The driver of the other vehicle, identified as a 49-year-old man, remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
It appears that the other vehicle failed to stop for the red light. At this time, impairment and failure to stop for the red light are factors in this collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
