Vanessa Garcia-Barbarin Dead after Big Rig Collision on Tippecanoe Avenue

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (January 5, 2020) – A 32-year-old woman identified as Vanessa Garcia-Barbarin died after a big rig collision on Monday, December 30.
 
According to authorities, at around 11:20 p.m., Garcia-Barbarin drove her Volkswagen sedan north on Tippecanoe Avenue. She traveled toward the intersection with Orange Show Road. Simultaneously, Sergio Medina, 52, of San Bernardino drove a Freightliner tractor-trailer along Orange Show.
 
After that, the two cars entered the intersection at the same time and crashed, authorities said.
 
Garcia-Barbarin died at the scene of the incident. Medina was not harmed.
 
Authorities said drugs or alcohol did not appear as a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
