BELLA VISTA, CA (January 7, 2020) – A traffic crash on Highway 299 in Bella Vista claimed the life of one person and injured another on Friday, January 3.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports of the incident at around 1:45 p.m. on Highway 299.
 
The incident involved a big rig and a delivery van. One person died and another had minor injuries in the collision, emergency dispatch reports stated.
 
Officers shut down the eastbound traffic at Deschutes Road in Bella Vista due to the crash. They also closed the westbound traffic west of Burney lumber mill, the state Department of Transportation said.
 
The California Highway Patrol said that they started one-way traffic control just after 3:30 p.m. All lanes reopened at about 5:15 p.m.
