Caylob Pelayo Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Rosedale Highway [Bakersfield, CA]

Caylob Pelayo and Jeffrey Harmer Hospitalized after Motorcycle Crash in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 2, 2020) – Authorities identified 19-year-old Caylob Pelayo as the motorcyclist injured in a crash on Rosedale Highway, Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 9:30 PM. A Honda, driven by 72-year-old Jeffrey Harmer, attempted to turn into Rosedale Village Trailer Park when it collided with Pelayo.
 
The impact of the collision ejected Pelayo from his motorcycle.
 
Emergency responders rushed Pelayo to Kern Medical Center with major injuries. Meanwhile, Harmer was also transported to a hospital with moderate injuries. Updates on their current conditions remain undisclosed.
 
CHP officers ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash. In addition, investigators noted that Pelayo was wearing a full-face helmet at the time of the collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
