Jesus Caballero Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on 17 Freeway [Phoenix, AZ]

56-Year-Old Jesus Caballero Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 17

 
PHOENIX, AZ (December 27, 2019) – Authorities identified 56-year-old Jesus Caballero of Phoenix as the man fatally struck by a semi-truck on 17 Freeway, Friday evening.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at about 8:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, a semi-truck hit Caballero near Camelback Road.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Caballero dead at the scene. Meanwhile, it is unknown whether or not the driver of the semi-truck remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Investigators ruled out wrong-way activities as factors in the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
