Donna Martinez, Amanda Martinez, and Layla White-Martinez Killed after Fiery Crash

 
SPRING VALLEY, NV (January 6, 2020) – Donna Martinez, 48, her daughter Amanda Martinez, 28, and granddaughter Layla White-Martinez, 4, died in car crash.
 
The accident occurred at the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Durango Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 26.
 
According to police, a 2016 Mazda 6 sped east on Desert Inn. After that, the driver struck a median and then lost control. After that, it collided into a Dodge SUV carrying the Martinez family, which was sitting at a red light.
 
The force of the collision pushed the vehicle through the intersection. They erupted in flames, police said. In addition, a third car also caught fire. In total, the incident damaged seven vehicles.
 
Witnesses raced out of their vehicles. They pulled the surviving victims from the burning SUV, police said.
 
The at-fault driver, a 39-year-old Las Vegas man, died at the scene. However, his identity was not yet released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
 
Donna Martinez’s son, Emilio Martinez, 17, and another granddaughter, Destiny Martinez-White, 10, were also in the vehicle. As a result, paramedics rushed both to University Medical with broken bones and severe burns.
 
There were no other injuries reported, police said.
 
A GoFundMe account was set up to help the Martinez for the funeral and medical expenses.
