Rosita Lizarde Killed in San Bernardino Pedestrian Crash on 8th Street and Arrowhead Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 27, 2019) – A 56-year-old San Bernardino resident identified as Rosita Mendoza Lizarde died in a crash on Sunday, December 22.
The accident happened just before 7:15 p.m. when a Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 38-year-old woman traveled north on Arrowhead Avenue. The vehicle moved toward the intersection at 8th Street.
After the driver drove through the intersection, she struck Lizarde who walked east on 8th Street, not in a marked crosswalk, officials said.
According to the police, the driver of the Pathfinder did not see Lizarde before the incident.
Lizarde succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash, authorities stated.
Police do not believe that speed or alcohol contributed to the collision.
