2 Killed in Humboldt Collision on Highway 101 near Benbow Drive

 
HUMBOLDT, CA (December 23, 2019) – Two people died in a collision on Highway 101 near Benbow Drive in Southern Humboldt Wednesday morning.
 
The incident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on December 18. It involved two vehicles.
 
As per the investigators, a white sedan was northbound when it crossed into the southbound lanes. It then collided head-on with a northbound grey hatchback. The two vehicles ended up blocking the southbound lanes of Highway 101.
 
The drivers of both vehicles died the scene. Reports indicated that the driver of the white sedan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
It was not immediately clear what caused the fatal incident. However, further investigation is underway.
