Son Accidentally Hit by Father on 5 Freeway in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, WA (December 19, 2019) – A man died after exiting a moving truck on 5 Freeway and was run over by the driver, Thursday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near Woodland. The man was in the backseat of a truck, while his father and mother were in the front seat. Then, the man had some medical issues and exited the truck after an altercation.
The father attempted to slow down and move the truck to avoid hitting his son. Unfortunately, the vehicle could not stop in time and ran over the son.
Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim. Meanwhile, the victim’s mother and father did not sustain injuries in the collision.
Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
