Josie Montijo Dead, Two Injured after Desert Center Multi-Car Collision on 10 Freeway
DESERT CENTER, CA (December 19, 2019) – Authorities identified 33-year-old Josie Montijo of El Centro as the woman killed in a crash on Sunday, December 15.
The collision happened at around 10:17 p.m. on westbound 10 Freeway east of Rice Road in Desert Center. Reports stated that there were three vehicles involved.
According to the California Highway Patrol, firefighters administered CPR on Montijo while she was trapped in the car. Yet, she succumbed to her fatal injuries at 11:08 p.m. Sunday, Coroner’s Bureau stated.
Two additional people suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Officials reported that two vehicles had minor damage and one vehicle sustained major damage.
CHP is still investigating the incident.
