Danny Martin Fatally Struck in Car Crash on Whittier Boulevard

 
WHITTIER, CA (December 19, 2019) – 61-year-old Danny Martin died in a car crash on Whittier Boulevard near Jordan Road around 6:00 a.m on Monday, December 16.
 
The accident happened when Martin tried to cross the roadway. Then a westbound 2004 BMW struck him, Whittier Police Department officials reported. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Officials said that Martin was not within an intersection or a marked crosswalk, police stated.
 
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, Whittier police Officer Hugo Figueroa stated.
 
There is no indication of any foul play or anything out of the ordinary, the officer stated. However, the traffic bureau is still going to investigate.
 
A GoFundMe was set up online Monday to help cover the cost of services for Martin. A vigil was held in his honor near the crash scene Monday evening.
