Karnveel Hundal and Manbir Singh Dead after Fiery Collision on 5 Freeway

 
BELLINGHAM, WA (December 18, 2019) – Two men identified as Karnveel Hundal and Manbir Singh died in a fiery crash after 10 p.m. on Friday, December 13.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, two vehicles crashed on northbound 5 Freeway just south of Sunset Drive in Bellingham.
 
The state patrol said that a black 2015 Audi S4 moved northbound in both lanes of the freeway at a high rate of speed. A gray 2009 BMW X6 was northbound in lane two when the Audi slammed into it. The Audi veered to the right, off the roadway. Then it caught fire, the release said.
 
The driver of the Audi, Karnveer S. Hundal, 19, of Bellingham and his passenger Manbir Singh, 18, of Bellingham died at the scene. A 7-year-old passenger from Vancouver, B.C. in another car suffered injuries. The driver, of that car, Julia C. Yu, and another passenger, Eric H. Chan, both 41 and from Vancouver, B.C. were not harmed.
 
Yu, Chan and the unnamed child had their seatbelts on during the incident. The release said it is not yet determined if Hundal and Singh were belted at the time of the collision.
