30-Year-Old Xiong Vang Arrested after Fleeing Police in Central Fresno
FRESNO, CA (December 11, 2019) – Authorities arrested 30-year-old Xiong Vang following a police chase crash on Millbrook Avenue, late Wednesday evening.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened at about 11:00 PM. Officers attempted to pull over Vang in the area of Millbrook Avenue and Turner Avenue.
However, Vang took off on Millbrook toward Belmont Avenue. After that, the fleeing vehicle ran a red light and crashed into a westbound vehicle.
Vang exited his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot but was later taken into custody. Officers confirmed that Vang will be charged for running a red light and not stopping for police. In addition, they suspect that Vang was driving under the influence.
Emergency responders transported the driver of the other vehicle to Community Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Meanwhile, Vang’s two female passengers did not sustain injuries.
Fresno police continue to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
