80-Year-Old Raymond Tenold Killed and DUI Driver Arrested after Fullerton Crash
FULLERTON, CA (December 13, 2019) – Authorities identified 80-year-old Raymond Tenold of Anaheim as the driver killed in a DUI crash on Raymond Avenue on Friday afternoon.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, the incident happened at about 3:00 PM. A 1964 Chevrolet Malibu SS, driven by Tenold, attempted to make a left turn onto Orangefair Lane. As he made the turn, a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup truck slammed into the Malibu at a high rate of speed.
The impact of the collision caused the Malibu to roll over multiple times.
Emergency responders pronounced Tenold dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Ram driver, identified as a 25-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries. After receiving treatment, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death.
Fullerton police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators ask witnesses to call them at (714) 738-5313 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
