68-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Black Mountain Road [Mira Mesa, CA]

MIRA MESA, CA (December 14, 2019) – A 68-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Black Mountain Road on Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:50 PM. As the woman crossed the Bank of America driveway, a 2006 Ford 250 struck her.
 
The woman was declared dead at the scene, but transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, the 43-year-old Ford driver attempted to flee the area but was immediately detained.
 
San Diego police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
