1-Year-Old Kevin Hart Dies after Rear-End Crash on 5 Freeway [Stockton, CA]
Baby Kevin Hart Killed and Kalesha Johnson Injured in Stockton Crash
STOCKTON, CA (December 14, 2019) – Authorities identified 1-year-old Kevin Hart as the infant killed in a crash on 5 Freeway, Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:30 PM. A Ford sedan, driven by 23-year-old Kalesha Johnson, slowed down with lights flashing. Due to unknown reasons, a northbound San Joaquin County sheriff’s patrol vehicle rear-ended the Ford.
The deputy extricated the infant from the rear and began CPR. Witnesses also rushed to the scene to render aid to Johnson, the infant’s mother.
A short time later, the infant was airlifted to a children’s hospital. Unfortunately, the infant was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, emergency responders rushed Johnson to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The deputy suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
