Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Bus on James Avenue in Redwood City

 
REDWOOD CITY, CA (December 14, 2019) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a SamTrans bus on James Avenue in Redwood City on Thursday, December 13.
 
The accident happened at around 8:47 a.m. at James Avenue and El Camino Real. The crash site is just feet away from Sequoia High School.
 
The bus moved southbound and traveled its regular route from Daly City BART to Palo Alto transit center when the incident occurred.
 
Mountain View police confirmed that the bus struck and killed a 70-year-old woman. Officials have not yet released her identity.
 
According to witnesses, the woman was in the crosswalk. It is too early to confirm what exactly happened. However, according to reports, she was in the crosswalk, SamTrans Spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew stated.
 
Four people occupied the bus, and no one was hurt. There are no reports on the condition of the bus driver and if there are any pending charges.
 
Police temporarily closed the intersection all Thursday morning.
