24-Year-Old Shawn Orr Arrested after High-Speed Chase in Santee

 
SANTEE, CA (December 11, 2019) – Authorities identified 24-year-old Shawn Orr as the suspect arrested following a high-speed chase on Lakeshore Drive, Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at about 4:25 PM. Deputies responded to the 9600 block of Marilla Drive after receiving reports of an armed man in a vehicle.
 
As deputies pulled up to the scene, the driver, identified as Orr, drove away at a high rate of speed. The fleeing vehicle drove through a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle. However, Orr did not stop and continued to flee the area.
 
A short time later, Orr suddenly stopped his vehicle in the middle of Lakeshore Drive. The sudden stop caused pursuing deputies to crash into one another and the suspect’s vehicle.
 
Deputies arrested Orr and found a gun, ammunition, and drugs inside the vehicle. Orr was later booked into San Diego Central Jail. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
 
Emergency responders treated the other driver at the scene.
 
Officials continue to investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
