25-Year-Old April Patane Dies after Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 93

 
ELKO, NV (December 9, 2019) – Authorities identified 25-year-old April Patane of Wells as the woman killed in a semi-truck crash on Highway 93, late Monday evening.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 11:30 PM. A southbound Ford Escort, driven by Patane, slowed to turn left onto a dirt road. Due to unknown reasons, a tractor-trailer struck the rear of the Ford. The impact of the collision caused the truck to overturn.
 
Emergency responders rushed Patane to a hospital, where she later died. Meanwhile, the semi driver did not suffer injuries and cooperated with investigators.
 
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
