SANTA CLARITA, CA (December 12, 2019) – A child suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident on Newhall Ranch Road on Monday, December 9.
 
According to deputies, a vehicle making a left turn onto Newhall Ranch Road near Grandview Drive struck a child in the crosswalk.
 
Several drivers on the road at the time of the incident stopped to assist the child. Then responders arrived on the scene at the entrance to the parking lot of Bridgeport Elementary School.
 
Christopher Thomas, a Los Angeles County Fire Department representative, said that first responders arrived within minutes of receiving the initial call at 8 a.m.
 
The child’s injuries were not life-threatening. However, paramedics rushed the child to a nearby hospital out of caution.
 
No cause for the incident was immediately available.
