Woman Fatally Injured after Merced Three-Vehicle Crash on West Olive Avenue

 
MERCED, CA (December 11, 2019) – A woman died following a three-vehicle crash on West Olive Avenue at around 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 9.
 
According to Sgt. Dan Dabney, the accident occurred when a white 1994 Toyota Camry made a left turn onto West Olive Avenue from Austin Avenue.
 
The Camry was then struck by a 2001 Toyota Tundra moving eastbound on West Olive Avenue, said Dabney.
 
Paramedics rushed to the crash site. They gave t treatments to the woman, who died shortly after. According to police, the identity of the 61-year-old woman was not yet released pending notification of loved ones.
 
The condition of the pickup truck driver was not determined. Police identified him as 72-year-old Dan Gruych of Merced. Police said a third vehicle suffered minor damage in the crash.
 
According to police, drugs or alcohol did not contribute to the incident.
 
The collision snarled traffic on West Olive Avenue after the crash, which remains under investigation.
