Car Crashes into Pole after High-Speed Chase on Olive Avenue near Garfield Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 9, 2019) – Authorities arrested a driver following a high-speed chase on Olive Avenue, late Monday evening.
According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 11:30 PM. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle and talk to the driver. However, the vehicle took off and a pursuit began, getting up to speeds of about 95 miles per hour.
As the fleeing vehicle approached Garfield Avenue, the driver lost control and slammed into a power pole. The impact then knocked over the power pole.
Emergency responders rushed the driver to a hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, his female passenger did not sustain injuries.
After receiving treatment, the driver was arrested and charged with failing to yield. In addition, deputies confirmed that the driver was on probation and driving with a suspended license. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
