School Bus Catches Fire after Crash on West Telegraph Road
SANTA PAULA, CA (December 10, 2019) – Three people, including two juveniles, suffered injuries in a school bus crash on West Telegraph Road, Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 2:27 PM. A stopped Chevrolet Express van attempted to turn onto Telegraph Road. There, it crossed into the path of a school bus traveling through the intersection.
The impact of the collision pushed the bus into another school bus. A short time later, the first school bus caught fire.
Emergency responders transported the driver of the van and two juveniles, ages 6 and 17, to Santa Paula Hospital with minor injuries. Updates on their current conditions remain undisclosed.
CHP officers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators encourage witnesses to call CHP at (805) 662-2640 as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
