Two Fatally Hurt after San Joaquin County Suspected DUI Crash on Highway 12
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (December 9, 2019) — Two people died after an alleged DUI crash on Highway 12 on Sunday, December 8.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of Highway 12, near Guard Road. Investigators stated that a red Nissan Altima moved eastbound on the highway. Simultaneously, at the same time, a gray Nissan Sentra traveled westbound.
For an undetermined reason, the Altima driver crossed over the double yellow lines. Then the driver went into oncoming traffic and crashed with Sentra. Both drivers, only identified as adult males, died at the scene, CHP stated. There were no occupants in either vehicle.
CHP investigators stated that alcohol and/or drugs did not play a role in the incident.
