15-Year-Old Seriously Hurt after Porterville Pedestrian Crash on Mathew Street

 
PORTERVILLE, CA (December 7, 2019) – A 15-year-old sustained injuries following a pedestrian accident on Mathew Street on Wednesday, December 4.
 
According to the police, they responded to the scene around 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of north Mathew Street.
 
When officers arrived at the area, they discovered a 15-year-old that had been struck by a 2017 Honda Civic.
 
Police stated that the driver of the Honda moved southbound in the 1500 block of North Mathew Street around 20 to 30 mph. Then the vehicle struck the juvenile who appeared to have been jogging in the area.
 
Paramedics transported the juvenile to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. They later transferred him to Valley Children’s Hospital. He is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
 
According to the police, the driver did not suffer injuries and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Officials believe that alcohol or drugs did not contribute to the incident.
