Female Driver Fatally Injured after Auburn Head-on Accident on Highway 49
AUBURN, CA (December 9, 2019) — A Lexus driver suffered fatal injuries after a head-on accident on Highway 49 on Friday, December 6.
CHP Auburn stated that a female driver traveled southbound in a Lexus sedan that was missing a tire. Then she swerved into the northbound lanes and collided head-on into another car.
The impact ejected the Lexus driver from her vehicle and she died at the scene.
CHP stated that the second vehicle involved had at least two occupants who were trapped. Officials freed and transported them to an area hospital with undetermined injuries. The occupants of a third vehicle involved were not hurt.
Caltrans District 3 stated that officials closed all lanes of the highway at Joeger Road. Cal Fire and Placer County firefighters are on the scene of the incident.
