Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on Reed Avenue near Adams Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 5, 2019) – A 57-year-old man died in a semi-truck crash on Reed Avenue, Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:00 PM. A Ford Bronco was northbound on Reed Avenue when a Freightliner began to make a left turn. Then, the front of the Bronco hit the right side of the semi-truck.
 
Emergency responders rushed the Bronco driver to Adventist Health Hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 45-year-old Jeremy Crank of Coarsegold, did not sustain injuries. As per reports, Crank will likely face misdemeanor manslaughter charges.
 
CHP officials ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the fatal collision. Investigators also noted that the victim was not wearing his lap-only seat belt. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
